Attracting Women to the Construction Industry
The Department of Labor has indicated that the number of women employed in the U.S. Construction industry grew by 81% from 1985 to 2007. Even though women make up 9% of workers, there are still about 800,000 women women workers who are employed in construction primarily in managerial, professional and administrative rolls with approximately 200,000 who are in occupations of production like laborers, electricians and plumbers.
